Our History

Fort Liberty Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned exclusively by its members and regulated and insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Chartered on April 18, 1960, the credit union serves 37,000 members across the globe. Fort Liberty Federal Credit Union offers a full range of financial services to its members.  And military or not, FLFCU serves everyone in Cumberland, Moore, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Robeson, and Scotland Counties.

2024 Annual Report

Message from President/CEO

I am pleased to report outstanding financial results for 2024.  Total loan balances increased by over $15 million to reach $434 million. Total assets increased by $66 million, ending the year at $645 million, and our net worth remains strong. Our strong financial performance resulted in the Board of Directors authorizing a $1,125,000 Loyalty Dividend in December. Over the last 7 years, FLFCU has returned nearly $6 million in loyalty dividends to our account holders. This direct financial return to our members differentiates us from for-profit financial institutions. 

Our newest full-service location in Southern Pines opened in September. We have seen well over 300 new accounts opened in just four months and have funded many new loans—both consumer and real estate. We hear positive comments every day from our members and area residents. This state-of-the-art branch will provide added convenience for our account holders and assist us in spreading awareness of the “FLFCU Difference” to households throughout Moore County.       

Throughout 2025, we will remain focused on improving services and increasing both value and convenience.  We will be making improvements and adding features to several online services.  No matter what happens with the economy and interest rates, we will strive to offer very competitive pricing and terms to help our members keep more of their hard-earned money. 

We will also continue to give back to our local communities through volunteer service, sponsorships, and financial support. This year we have pledged support to the following organizations:  Fort Liberty Family & MWR, United Way of Cumberland County, Support Military Families, Family Promise of Fayetteville, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and Victory Junction.  We will also be participating in and sponsoring many other great causes and local events. Throughout the year, you can also expect to see several appreciation days to recognize the hard work and contributions of individuals within our communities.  

We provide exceptional financial services to our Military and Civilian members and the communities we serve. We are committed to delivering on this mission statement each and every day.
